Mrs. Phoebe Louella Pillsbury Whitney, age 89, of Barnesville, GA, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Whitney was born on Wednesday, February 24, 1926 in Adams County, Wisconsin to the late James Edward Pillsbury and the late Carolina Gertrude Graff Pillsbury. She was a homemaker and a member of Barnesville First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Whitney is survived by her husband, Philip Cushing Whitney; children and their spouses, Constance Whitney, Martha and Douglas Caldwell, Carolina and Greg Westbury; grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Katie Caldwell, Erik Caldwell, Torrey and Dustin Lovett, Mitchell and Krista Westbury, David and Kristin Westbury, Aaron Westbury; 3 great-grandsons; 1 great-granddaughter; sisters and brother-in-law, Edna Stark, and Juanita and William Schoerbeck; brothers and sister-in-law, Jimmy Pillsbury, Albert and Alice Pillsbury; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Phoebe Whitney will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Barnesville First Methodist Church with Reverend Dana Overton-Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
