Obituary of James L. Scott

Life Legacy Mr. James Lawrence “Pete” Scott, age 78, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at his residence. Pete was born on Tuesday, July 20, 1937 in Riverdale, GA. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. Pete was a former Deputy with the Clayton County Sheriff’s Department. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Scott Carter, and a son. Pete is survived by his son, Anthony Scott; sister, Stella Kiblinger; uncle and aunt, George and Mary Scott; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and dear friend, Donald "Dink" Buchanan. Funeral services for Mr. James Scott will be conducted on Friday, May 27 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy L. Mangham officiating. Interment will be at Jenkinsburg City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
