Walter Jackson Swink, Jr., age 88, of Jackson, GA, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Wellstar Sylvan Grove Hospital. Walt was born on Thursday, May 31, 1928 in Bolton, GA to the late Walter Jackson Swink, Sr. and the late Eva Cates Swink. He served in Germany as a proud member of the United States Army. Walt was a lifelong deer hunter and fisherman. He was one of the founders of Harper Valley Hunting Club. Walt was a faithful church member and loved to hand out peppermints. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Walt is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy Swink; sister-in-law, Patricia Lang; brother-in-law, Dixie Dooley; nieces and nephews, Kristin and Jeff Prater, Bo and Jude Prater, Mike and Paula Lang, Parker Lang, Nancy and Delmas Wolfe, Buddy and Doug Milton, Beau and Jack Thompson, Mary nn Skaggs, Becky Slocum, and Faye Arbogast.
Funeral services for Mr. Walt Swink will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Dr. Lane Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a memorial contribution to the Macedonia Baptist Church ℅ Live the Vision, 151 Macedonia Church Road, Jackson, GA 30233.
