Obituary of Jesse Stallings

Mr. Jesse Morgan “Bud” Stallings, age 84, of Jackson, GA, died Friday, February 11, 2011 in Macon. He was born on September 25, 1926 in Macon, son of the late Willie Lee and Annie Gertrude Patterson Stallings. He was a member of the Ambucs in Macon, the Macon Motor Boat Club and an original member of the Middle Georgia Beagle Club. Mr. Stallings loved his family very much and enjoyed boating, hunting, bowling, golf, and crafts. Mr. Bud Stallings is survived by his wife, Dell Grant Stallings, of Jackson; 3 daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Richard Rowell, Pat Norrell, Shirley Tucker, all of Macon; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Annette Stallings, of Jackson; sister-in-law, Faye Stallings, of Port Orange, FL; step-daughter, Sheryl and Rick Gable, of Senoia; step-son, Mike and Maria Jackson, of Cleveland, OH; 6 grandchildren, Audrey, Lindsay, James, Jessie, Shelley and John; 5 step-grandchildren, Tiffany, Ross, Alli, Kristina, and Melyssa; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Billy Stallings and Jimmy Stallings, and step-son, David Jackson. Memorial services for Mr. Bud Stallings will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in the Chapel of Sherrell Funeral Home with Rudy Mangham officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or the Butts County Humane Society, in care of McIntosh State Bank or Brookwood Animal Clinic, 118 Brookwood Ave., Jackson, GA 30233 in memory of Mr. Stallings.
