Obituary of Danny Roberts

Mr. Daniel Presley “Danny” Roberts, age 76, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Emory Hospital. Danny was born on Tuesday, November 19, 1940 in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Ellis Howard Roberts and the late Lilac Olivia Massey Roberts. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Roberts Dawson. Danny was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from General Motors. Danny was an active Mason, being a member at the Jackson and Worthville Lodges. He also helped Scottish Rite in Macon. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Danny is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha Roberts; children and their spouses, Robin and Jim Hunt, Rhonda and Steve Rhoton, Rodney and Jenny Roberts; grandchildren, Amanda Thomas, Emily Hunt, Daniel Yancy, Joseph Yancy, Joseph Sells, Jacob Sells and Jonah Roberts; great-grandchildren, Olivia Dial, Sailor Dial, Tara Grace Thomas, Alexis Yancy, Cheyenne Yancy and Josie Sells; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Doris Roberts; in-laws, Richard and Brenda Fisher; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Danny Roberts will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Dr. Lane Sanders and Mr. Ralph Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Friends may visit the family on Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
