Obituary of Kerry Johnson

Mr. Kerry Wayne Johnson, age 49, of Jenkinsburg, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Newnan, GA. He was born on May 8, 1968 in Macon, GA to Ethel Ann Johnston Johnson and the late Drayton Jack Johnson. Kerry graduated from Cartersville High School and played football at Georgia Southwestern State University where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of Desert Storm. Kerry was an avid bass fisherman and fan of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He attended Towaliga Baptist Church with his wife and family and shared his testimony and love of the Lord with all he knew. Kerry is survived by his wife, Melinda Johnson; children, Drayton Johnson and Caitlin Stephenson; mother, Ethel Ann Johnson; uncle and aunt, Eddy and Vicki Johnston; uncle, Neal Johnston and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chris and Becky Pitts. A funeral service for Mr. Kerry Johnson will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Towaliga Baptist Church with Reverend Jay Sanders and Reverend Tommy Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in the Towaliga Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday evening.
