Obituary of Carol Strickland

Carol Jane Strickland, age 60, of Jackson, GA passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Spalding Regional Medical Center. She was born June 1, 1952 in Decatur, GA to Clara Janie Vickery Fuller and the late Bobby C. Fuller. She was a loyal and long-time employee of Jackson Piggly Wiggly and was lovingly known as "Miss Pig". Carol adored Elvis, liked the beach, "Wheel of Fortune" and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby C. Fuller, and brother, Robert C. Fuller. Carol is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Jason Verhine, of Euharlee, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Marlana Strickland, of Hollonville, GA; mother, Clara Fuller, of Jackson; 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Christopher, Chandler, Aubree, Nathaniel, and Jacob; sister and brother-in-law, Reathea and Rick Knowles, of Monticello, FL; brother, Harvey P. Fuller, of Jackson; several nieces; nephews; best friend, Lela; and other loved ones. Funeral services for Carol Strickland will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ricky Stubbs officiating. Interment will be at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 - 9:00 PM Tuesday evening.
