Obituary of Shirley Parker

Mrs. Shirley Ann Young King Parker, age 77, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017. Shirley was born on Tuesday, July 11, 1939 in Henry County to the late Thomas Lawrence Young and the late Mary Lizzie Mangham Young. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Dodson King and Roy Lee Parker. She retired from Springs Industries loved working at Fresh Air Bar-B-Q. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed going on mini vacations and going fishing. Shirley was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Jackson. Shirley is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Christy King, Doug and Wanda King; grandchildren, Jennifer King, Matthew King, James King and Ashley Weathers; great-grandchildren, Brynnlee Goen, Jace Goen, Ansley Gaddy, Jakob Freeman, Austyn King and Tatum King; sisters, Tiny Almond, Marion Watkins and Brenda Johnson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley King Parker will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow in Pepperton Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
