Mr. Linvell “Limbo” Garfield Bowen, age 77, of Flovilla, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. He was born on Friday, August 25, 1939 in Ranburne, Alabama to the late Edna Mae Bowen. Limbo enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sports. He loved to watch the Jackson Red Devil Football games. Limbo was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Bowen; daughter, Brenda Sue Bowen; and son, Pug Ivey.
Limbo is survived by his wife, Claudia Faye Bowen; children, Lynette Bowen Smith and Rickey, Wendell and Tammy Bowen, Sherri Bowen Corbin and Chuck, Jan Bowen and Allen Thompson, Terri and Alan Duck, Rickey and Becky Hicks, Tracy and Mark Miller, Staci and Ray Jenkins, Tanya and Shawn Moon, Tami and Steve Green; brother, Ralph White; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mr. Linvell “Limbo” Garfield Bowen will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Charlie Moss, Gregory Hamlin, Cameron Corbin, Nathan Bowen, Josh Berry, T.J. James, Jeffery Hamlin, and Allen Thompson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfh.com.
