Mrs. Katherine Elizabeth “Kathy” Willis Long, age 56, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at her residence. She was born on Thursday, December 8, 1960 in Bradenton, Florida to the late Harry Willis and the late Betty Whitlow Waters. Kathy enjoyed going to yard sales and fishing. She loved to crochet and was an artist. Kathy loved her family and was always caring for them. She attended Flovilla Baptist Church. Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Willis; grandson, Latrez; and friend, Darlene Smith. Kathy is survived by her husband, George Long; children, David and Sheena Long, Chris Long and Danielle, and Becky Long; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Autumn Marie, Andrew, Tayshawn, Malcolm, Aiden, Dae-Lyn, Chad, Tyler, and Isaiah; brothers; Timmy Cates and Jimmy Cates; several nieces and nephews. Memorial Service for Mrs. Kathy Long will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 2, 2017 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
