Obituary of Betty Waters

Betty Jane Waters, of Jackson, GA, died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. She was born March 12, 1939 in Kellysville, WV to Frank William and Rebecca Helyton Whitlow. Betty enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, dancing, cards. and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Waters is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and George Long, of Jackson; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Harvey and Sarah Cates, of Locust Grove, Jimmy Cates, of Jackson, Harry Lee and Marie Willis, of Bradenton, FL; 7 grandchildren, David Leon, Michele, David Lee, Christopher, Becky, Crystal and Brandon; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Gladys Brown, of WV, Carletta Deckert, of FL; 2 brothers, Donald Whitlow, of GA, Norman Whitlow, of FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands, Coley Leon Cates, Harry Lee Willis, Sr., William Mills Johnson, William Finger, and Roy Waters. Funeral services for Betty Waters will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Garland officiating. Interment will be at Jackson City Cemetery .
