Glenn Richard Waldrop, age 63, of Jackson, GA, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012. He was born November 17, 1948 in Monticello, GA to Thomas and Carolyn McElhaney Waldrop. He served in the US Navy and enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycles, gunsmithing, outdoors, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandboys and best friend, John Bray (Red). Glenn was preceded in death by his wife of 42 yrs, Connie Waldrop; father, TJ Waldrop; and brother, Tommy Waldrop. Glenn is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Marshall Maddox, of Griffin; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lara Waldrop, of Williamson; 3 grandchildren, Mason and Myles Maddox, and Jessica Palmer; mother, Carolyn Waldrop-Rowe; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Glenn Waldrop will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 - 11:00 Saturday morning. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Ave., Suite 310, White Plains, New York 10605 in memory of Glenn Waldrop.
