Obituary of David Weigel

David Fritz Weigel, age 77, of Jackson, GA, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012. He was born July 4, 1935 in Knoxville, TN to the late Joseph Weigel and the late Minnie Leopard Weigel. He enjoyed traveling, the ocean, racing, tv, reading, and loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Mary Elma Sexton Weigel, 2 brothers and 2 sisters . Mr. Weigel is survived by his wife of 18 years, Mary Lois Weigel, of Jackson; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Wayne Williams, of Blue Ridge, GA, Linda and Ken Jenkins, of Forest Park, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Peggy Weigel, of Wedowee, AL; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 3 on the way; sister-in-law, Loretta Weigel, of Powell, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for David Weigel will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park in Forest Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 - 9:00 PM Friday evening and 1:00 - 2:00 PM Saturday. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 in memory of Mr. Weigel.
