Obituary of Johnny O. Stallings

Mr. Johnny O. “Coach” Stallings, Sr., age 83, of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2018 at Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.  Johnny was born on Saturday, January 5, 1935 in Warner Robins, Georgia to the late Willie Lee Stallings and the late Gertrude Patterson Stallings. He coached at Willingham High School for 8 years, Woodward Academy for 32 years, and assisted at Piedmont Academy for a few years after retirement. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Johnny was preceded in death by brothers, Billy Stallings, Buddy Stallings, Jimmy Stallings; great-grandson, Michael Conner Veach.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annette C. Stallings; children and their spouses, Johnny Stallings Jr. and Cathleen, Amanda and Keith Guy, Cindy Holcombe, Clint Stallings, Angie and Sam Minter; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Coach Johnny Stallings will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Macedonia Baptist Church with Dr. Bob Whitmire, Reverend Richard Campbell and Mr. Burt Jones officiating.  Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service.
