Obituary of Joseph Carter Waits

Mr. Joseph Carter “Joe” Waits, age 50, of Jackson, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023. 

Joe was born on Thursday, April 26, 1973, in Griffin, Georgia to Herman Franklin Waits and Nancy Jean Goff Waits. He was a member of Jackson United Methodist Church and was an avid University of Georgia fan. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1991 and was 1997 graduate from North Georgia College and State University.  He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and going to the beach.

Joe is survived by his wife of 25 years, April Cook Waits; son, Carter Waits; daughter, Carlee Waits; parents, Herman and Nancy Waits; brother, Rivers Waits; father-in law and mother-in-law, Jimmy and Bonnie Cook; special family, The Brickery; several aunts, uncles, and cousins and special lifelong friends; special dog, Dempsey.

Funeral services for Mr. Joe Waits will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 4:00 P.M. at Jackson United Methodist Church with Reverend Owen Skinner and Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson City Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
